A Showtime comedy starring Toni Colette as your average suburban mom….wit multiple personalities. I have watched the first season so far and I have to say its unique, like no other show I’ve seen before. They type of comedy isn’t side-splitting, but a more dry comedy with a fe hilarious surprises in there. There are also a fair share of serious moments and talks on mental health, which I find fascinating. I would say the other personalities or “alters” don’t come out enough, but who knows its only the first season I’ll keep you updated. It’s not the funniest comedy I have seen per se, but the story lines are intriguing making me want to keep watching.

First Book Review: I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (Tucker Max)

This was one of the first books I read this summer, and I should start off by saying if you’re planning on a smart read, this is not the book for you. However, if you enjoy drunken shenanigans as much as I do, then pick this one up. The book, which is a collection of short, true stories, of Tucker Max mostly consisting of drunken sexcapades started out hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud at several points. However, after a couple of the stories, it becomes incredibly repetitive, where every story follows the same basic plot line. Went to a bar, got really drunk, spent lots of money, and left with a new sex buddy. It starts to become so predictable that about half way through the book I completely lost interest and was determined to finish it as soon as possible just because I can’t start another book without finishing one, yeah I’m OCD like that. The way Max also writes the stories, in which he is “the man”, names a high level of drunkenness after himself, “Tucker Max drunk”, and all around seems to write this book only to boost his ego becomes largely off-putting. I am glad I read the book and enjoyed it for the most part, but I’m not going to read any of his other works. If you’re looking for an easy read about booze and sex, this is a good fit for you

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.” -Steve Jobs
